About Us

After much procrastination, I’m finally getting started! First, a little about me and why I decided to begin this blog.

I have been blessed with fairly good health throughout my life–maybe I took it for granted. I was also blessed with a mom who cooked REAL food for us, and it was healthy. There was not a lot of junk food in the house, carbonated beverages were a TREAT rather than something we had every day. When I was 12, my dad had a heart attack, and the doctor put him on a low fat diet, Fleischman’s margarine, etc and to simplify things, my mom put the whole family on the same healthy (except for the transfats loaded- margarine) diet. This was good in a way, we all learned to love lower fat cooking and to this day, have avoided fatty foods.

Then, when I was 16, my dad had a massive heart attack and was gone! It was the most devastating thing I could imagine, and I decided then, that I had to depend on myself, and I chose Nursing as a career path.

Fast forward about 40 years and I was still in fairly good health, but I had put on a few extra pounds and felt FLUFFY! I was not overweight according to the height/weight tables, but I sure didn’t look like I wanted to.

About that time, my friend, Miss Betty an old Army Nurse Corps buddy, told me about a wonderful Nutritional Cleanse that got rid of the impurities we are all exposed to in our air, food, water, things we put on our skin, etc–and a by-product of the cleanse, was FAT LOSS!
Well, I had @ 20 pounds (GROAN) I wanted to release so I jumped on THAT band wagon right away!

Betty was right! I began to RELEASE WEIGHT, found my ENERGY, LOST CRAVINGS for sweets and junk, and even lost my taste for alcohol! When my doctor checked my bloodwork, it was better than it had been for years! I looked and felt healthier, and younger…I’ll be 60 next month and friends kindly tell me I don’t look it!

I really felt I should share the things I know, learn, and continue to learn, with others, so I studied to become a professional HEALTH COACH and now, I’ll be studying to add another certification-As a PROFESSIONAL CANCER COACH.

There are so many things we can do to reduce our chances of getting cancer. Did you know that 95% of cancers are due to Toxicity, and Nutritional Deficiencies? Yes!

Dr. Sherry Rogers, in her book DETOXIFY OR DIE, explains this very clearly. Well, this is GOOD NEWS! this means we can REDUCE, our chances of developing this disease and others, simply by reducing our exposure to toxins, CLEANSING to purify the body, and increasing our nutritional status with healthier food choices, and eliminating the JUNK in our lives. This and STRESS REDUCTION will go a long way in keeping us healthier, and reducing our chances of developing many degenerative diseases.

Yes, at 60, I am on NO PRESCRIPTION MEDS and I credit that to lifestyle choices, and the wonderful Nutritional Supplements I use.

If you are ready to make some positive changes in your life, come along with me! I’m still a work in progress! I’ll share what I do, things I read, sources, and resources, products I like, books that have helped me and may help you. You may even have some hints for me! Along the way, I am meeting other boomers who have lots to share so I’ll show you where they are and what they are doing too!

I hope you’ll be with me on this journey to better and better health. My personal belief is that WE are responsible for our own health and only the body can heal itself. We need to give it what it needs and let it heal. We have tremendous resources within us–we just have to tap into our inner resources. I hope you enjoy the ride!
